The Mangroves at Sierpe on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica The small sleepy town of Sierpe on the Osa Peninsula, which lies about 15 km south of Palmar Sur just off of the Pan American Highway, serves as the entrance to the largest mangrove reserve in Latin America. The Térraba-Sierpe National Wetlands is situated where the mouths of the Sierpe and Térraba rivers meet and is home to some of the biggest mangroves in the world.
